Sikh Canadians mark milestone on April 23, 2022 at Surrey City Hall, with the arrival of 200 Afghan Sikhs and Hindus in BC and Alberta.
"This is a milestone moment for Sikh-Canadians and a part of fulfilling Manweet Singh Bhullar's legacy. Bhullar was the youngest member to be elected to Alberta's 27th legislature. and the first turbaned Sikh Cabinet Minster in Canada. prior to his passing in November 2015, he arranged for the evacuation of Sikhs and Hindus from Afghanistan's Helmand province early 2015 after they became the target of intolerance and attacks."
